ASTM F1952
ASTM's F1952 Mountain Downhill Bicycle Racing Helmet Standard is significantly more rigorous than traditional bicycle helmet standards and is the only standardized test for chin bar safety. The Vanguard exceeds ASTM deflection limits by 40%. An ASTM certified helmet needs much more coverage and is tested at higher impact levels.
