Continental Grand Prix 5000 TT 700x25c TR (Black) Tire
Filipo Ganna, two-time time trial world champion and hour record holder, proved to be the ideal partner for the development of a tire specialized in time trials. In collaboration with Daniel Bigham, British cyclist and aerodynamic engineer, Continental has made significant improvements to the TT. Weighing 35 grams less by 25mm than the Grand Prix 5000 S TR, this tire is a real technological feat.
This new tyre, like the other models of the brand, is compatible with hookless rims (max. 5 bars like the AS) and is also Tubeless. According to the company, the ideal assembly to improve rolling resistance is to use a 28mm rear and a 25mm front tire, with both sections available.
The Continental Grand Prix 5000 TT TR is offered exclusively with black sidewalls and uses the BlackChili compound for the rubber, as well as liquid crystal polymers and Vectran for the puncture resistant reinforcement (five times more resistant to tearing than a nylon casing). As on the AS, the Lazer grip allows for better cornering grip, while the Active comfort ensures effective vibration filtration.
