A quickly smooth centerline is paired with a textured mid-section that provides a seamless transition over small outer knobs for consistent traction on dirt and gravel. Important external knobs also extend along the sidewall to provide an extra layer of defense from roadside nuisances of all shapes and sizes. Byway 34 is an identical replacement to the previous Exposure 34 tire. We have renamed the tire to create a uniform naming structure where all tires are named according to the tread pattern. SG2 PUNCTURE PROTECTION: Most sizes of this tire are available with our all-new SG2 Puncture Protection, a lightweight nylon insert that provides bead-to-bead coverage and ensures every area of the tire is protected from cuts and punctures. As events get progressively more difficult and cyclists pedal farther, the gravel gets tougher. It only makes sense that gravel tires also get harder. Refer to the tables below to determine which versions are available with SG2. Nylon fibers have a flat profile, which reduces the amount of rubber needed to fill the gaps between the fibers and minimizes weight. Protected SG2 gravel tires feature a 120tpi carcass, which improves elasticity over a traditional 60tpi tire. SG2 has been specifically designed to be a puncture protection layer, but also improves air retention and eliminates side wall infiltration. FEATURES: Smooth centerline for efficiency with diamond-shaped exterior knobs for grip in dirt. The high volume tire allows for a comfortable ride. Dual Compound rubber means a fast tire with excellent cornering traction.
