The new Cinturato Gravel tires feature a compound specially designed for gravel and cyclocross use: the SpeedGRIP. Developed starting from the formulation applied to Scorpion MTB tires - the SmartGRIP - the new SpeedGRIP maintains the same polymer matrix, improving rolling efficiency. High mileage and high-smoothness tires are important factors in gravel driving, both in racing and in bikepacking, as well as when traveling on a mix of asphalt, gravel and rough terrain. This is why the Pirelli technicians worked on refining the compound with the aim of limiting the dissipation of energy. The SpeedGRIP maintains the same tear resistance as its MTB counterpart, as well as its high chemical adhesion (known as wet grip), with a reduction in rolling resistance to a level very close to that of pure road racing tires. The mechanical strength of the SpeedGRIP compound reduces the possibility of any sharp object penetrating or cutting the tire, resulting in greater protection efficiency of the underlying high-strength fabric layers. Cinturato Cross and Cinturato Gravel tires allow you to drive faster in corners and at higher average speeds on straights, with a lower puncture ratio than the typical configuration.
